 Post subject: PVP/Race Quests

If this has been gone over already, I'm sorry. I couldn't find it. Anyway, will there be "competitive" quests? Where, for example (this is a little complicated), a king from a rebel reflected world has had a powerful artifact stolen by a different king, and then when the thieves are escaping, Morphael steals it. His thieves would be trapped in a gigantic jungle, and both kings would have Fallen Heros trying to find the artifact. Could this happen?

(And if I wanted to do a competitive quest with my friend could I steal it and give it to some maggotmen?)

The short answer, no.

Players will not oppose players in CoS.
Players on quests will be in their own Story Reflected World.
Players in Community Reflected Worlds will have many group and multi group related options, all of which are cooperative.

However, there could be an NPC mercenary group hired by a king to find the artifact as well, and remember NPCs use all the same abilities PCs do.

Celimah makes a good point. Just because I said that another player wouldn't do that does not mean you wont have a scenario like you described. Our NPCs are far more alive, and will be your opponents on many quests. They will try to beat you to your goal, set traps for you, lie to others about you, etc. You are really going to hate some of these guys!

Oh this is going to be so much fun. You may find you have an NPC nemesis that keeps making your life "interesting." :lol:

You actually do have a "nemesis". It is discussed somewhere... I'm not sure where though...

One thing on quests that would be interesting would be to not accept the quest, but go on it anyway. That way no one would know what you're doing unless your character is being consistently monitored. Although allowing a tactic like that might be a bit too much for a quest system that already allows so much to happen.
