Someone asked a question outside the forums, and I thought I would answer it here instead, his question was:

"Does Morphael hold the rights and trademark on undead? Or are there spells and abilities that exist elsewhere that lunatics could use to create undead monsters, beasts, and other weird and wonderful things?"

There are no player Skills or Abilities for creating undead or other monsters, but Morphael does not hold any rights to undead. There are seven main forces in the CoS universes that could make undead (that I know of at this time): The Free Races, Morphael, The Eyes of Darkness, Demons, the denizens of the Veil, Spirits and Fay Races.

Morphael (or his creations): He is an unknown single entity, and a mystery at the beginning of the game.
The Free Races: Players are one of these, but so are NPCs. These include both those 'Of the Blood' and Theurgia (free race members who gain powers without being 'Of the Blood').
The Eyes of Darkness: Daughter of the Enchantress, evil sorceress of great power.
Demons: Powerful beings from another universe, that corrupt the beings from the First universe by draining Radiant energy to feed upon.
The Veil: Where spirits reside, including those of the dead who have not moved on to the 2nd Veil.
Spirits: the remains of the Dead Gods, these take many forms, including Fay races, Grim and Radiant spirits that inhabit objects and places, and some reside in the Veils.
Fay Races: Created by spirit remnants of the Dead Gods, but they are physical races now, with their own society, bodies, rules, etc.

Like all the new races, the Jenemos were once human. They were created from human slaves that Morphael had captured in his war against the Citadel. The Jenemos race was designed to build and maintain Morphael’s magic driven machines. Morphael wanted them small enough to climb amongst the gears and wheels so he made them shorter. They needed to work in dark places so he enlarged their eyes. So they could hear when there was a problem in the machines he increased the size of their ears. He made their fingers long and dexterous for intricate work, and he made them very clever so that they could create his war machines, a strange symbiosis of machines and magic.
