So i just returned to PoE and they implemented a lot of interesting systems, one of wich is fortune telling. How it works there is that there's this npc that for a silver coin gives you a prophecy like "you will fight 7 strong undead" and in some part of the game you fight them. It's a really neat system that adds to gameplay variety and helps fighting boredom. Now i read somewhere that CoS will have fortune-telling and i was wondering if it's anything similiar. What kind of fortune telling you guys think CoS will have?

Similar, but more detailed. Our game generates a customized quest for each player, and because it does that, the game knows a lot of what is coming, and the Fortune Teller system can access that. Therefore, more than "you will kill six bozos". More like, "I see a dark presence around King Crull, a creature in the guise of an advisor. He will attempt to betray you at the critical moment in your negotiations." That kind of thing.

Hmm. So the fortune teller can only be used while in a quest in a SRW? The one in PoE gives you a quest from nothing.

Sort of, yes, they are for stories... however, you don't have to be on a quest when you go to the Fortune Teller, if not, she will offer you one!

As for comparing CoS quests to PoE... really? They are a professed gear grind game, not story driven content. Predicting you will kill some monsters is not a prediction of worth. They just put those monsters in your path.

CoS is story driven, to the scope of every quest being the equivalent of the entire Lord of the Rings. Fortune telling as part of that kind of story scope is much different.

Fortunately, in our mythos, there is no set future (otherwise, what's the point of doing anything in life?) There are only likely paths of the future. So, she isn't telling you what will happen, she is telling you what is most likely to happen.
