Will the different races have special abilities? And if so, will these abilities only be available to that race?
Yes, we are planning special abilities for races. However, it is important to understand that in our system no race will make a better archer over a sorcerer, for example. In Citadel of Sorcery, your character has to be able to become whatever they wish, so we don't tailor races to certain 'classes', since we don't have pre-made classes anyway.
Example: one of our races is 'jinxed'. Yes, this is a desirable trait. Opponents seem to miss when shooting at them, or have their spell go awry, or fumble their weapon when they swing at them. Etc. but this racial oddity helps this character no matter what career path they choose.
How many races does the game let you play?
The short answer is six. However, in CoS there are some interesting twists to how races work. For example, you will not be asked to pick your race when you start the game, that will come later when you have more knowledge. How does that work? Well, some things have to be kept secret, but the race system is new and unique, like most of this ground breaking game.
How much customization will be available at character creation?
We're planning a fully adjustable character creation system, face and body. We hope to give players as much character customization as possible. Your character's uniqueness is part of what gives you an identity, so we want everyone to have as much control of their looks as we can offer.
What are the races?
Currently (subject to change) the six races are:
1) Verduren: a race that is one with nature.
2) Waerians: a race at home underwater or on land.
3) Gargoyles: created in the image of a demon, they are now the sworn bane of all demons.
4) Tyven: A smaller fox like race who have little respect for the idea of personal possession.
5) Jenomos: an odd race from underground who are avid practical jokers who love creating mischief.
