Citadel of Sorcery

Equipment

  • Equipment comes in four varieties in the CoS World: Mundane, Magical, Soul Bound and Monogrammed.

    1) Mundane: This is any item with unused potential. Among others, there will things like: gem holders, spell slots and Rune sockets and an overall crafting potential value.

This Mundane item can be improved with anything until the potential value of the object is used up. Once it has been improved to any degree, the item becomes Magical. Mundane objects have no value and cannot be traded or sold. In order to do so, they must first be crafted into a magical item. Therefore, ALL items sold on the open market will have been crafted to some degree.

    2) Magical Items: These are items that have been improved through the crafting system of adventuring enhancement and addition of various elements like: Gems, Runes, Charms or Talismans.

Once an item becomes Magical it is ready to be used, sold or traded.

    3) Soul Bound Items: Once a Magical item is improved to at least 85% of its total potential that item will become Soul Bound to the player that improved the item to that level. This means it can no longer be sold or traded. However, when the player is done with the item it can be taken to an Artisan who can extract one of the powers in the item for use in another item. This destroys the rest of the item in the process.

    4) Monogrammed Items: These are Magical or Soul Bound items that the player takes on a special Quest to get monogrammed with their personal mark. In doing so the item is made Soul Bound (if it wasn't already). However, when monogrammed the item will become part of the Player's personal equipment Set. Set items give extra potential to the item, allowing for further enhancement of the character.
